Montcross is a growing suburban area in eastern Gaston County, North Carolina located in Belmont and surrounded by the towns of McAdenville, Mount Holly, Gastonia and Charlotte. Montcross stretches along I-85 and has two interchanges in place for great success.

Montcross is owned by The Southern Benedictine Society of North Carolina, which is a Benedictine Monastery founded in 1876. One of the primary purposes of the development is to provide financial support for the Monastery and Belmont Abbey College. Over their extensive 144 year history, the Monastery has assembled and preserved approximately 700 acres of land, of which 160 acres are used by the Monastery and College.
